Conservatory Blinds

A DIY conservatory is an ideal way to extend your home or spend your leisure time, be it for a lounge, dining room or just a leisure area for you to enjoy your garden all year round, whatever the weather conditions.

However, your conservatory will not be fully complete without conservatory blinds to either the roof or roof and panels, as these will give your conservatory an air of elegance and help to keep your conservatory cool and prevent the sun's glare in your eyes. You will be surprised how bright it is when the sun is out.

Conservatory blinds also reduce the suns U.V. rays from fading your furniture and fabrics.

Any type or style of conservatory, sun lounge or orangery can have blinds fitted to them.

  1. Pleated conservatory blinds which fold horizontally i.e. these are designed to fold up and down on panels and between the roof rafters. These can either be manually operated or by remote control.
  2. Roller conservatory blinds as above operate up and down on panels and between the roof rafters and again can be either manual or remote control.

Conservatory blinds can be made in any colour, pattern or fabric, thus giving you total choice and colour co-ordination to your conservatory, i.e. setting the desired mood, blue will give a cool effect where as oranges and reds give the effect of warmth.

However any reputable company will give advice on this subject.

Specialised companies supply conservatory blinds with a solar finish therefore reflecting the suns heat away from your conservatory keeping it cool during the summer. This may cost a little extra but we think it is worth considering.

Drapes in voiles and muslin fabrics are now very fashionable.

They can look very effective and at much lower cost than the above options, but you will need time and patience. Being a good seamstress would help. A good curtain company should be able to advise you on fabrics and drapes.
